  • The Earth Team has been around since 1981, when Congress passed legislation allowing NRCS to use volunteers in all programs.

  • In 2005, nearly 35,000 Earth Team Volunteers donated almost one million hours of their time to conservation practices.

  • Total value of volunteer time in 2005 was over $16 million.
