Background

  • Born in Lubbock and grew up in Odessa, Texas.
  • Attended Texas Tech University and received a Bachelor of Science in Rangeland Management in 1992.
  • A biologist for EG&G Environmental Sciences Inc. located in Las Vegas, Nevada conducting vegetation and animal research for the Yucca Mountain Project until 1994.
  • Returned to Texas Tech and received a Master of Science in 1997 with an emphasis on Prescribed Burning. My research focused on The Effects of Summer Burning on Texas High Plains Vegetation.
  • Upon completion of my education I was the ranch manager of a small 3,000 acre cow-calf, stocker operation and peanut farm near Jayton, Texas.
  • Began my career with the NRCS as a Rangeland Management Specialist in Waurika, Oklahoma. In 2001, I moved to Lawton, Oklahoma as a multi-county Rangeland Specialist. In 2004, I was relocated to Woodward, Oklahoma as the Zone I Rangeland Resource Specialist.
  • Certified Professional in Rangeland Management by the Society for Range Management.
