Diane Gelburd is Regional Conservationist for the West, NRCS. As such, she provides conservation leadership for 13 states and areas. Diane has served in many capacities with NRCS including Regional Assistant Chief, Central; Director of Operations Management and Oversight Division and of the Ecological Sciences Division; Regional Conservationist for the East; and Associate Deputy Chief for Programs.

She has a Ph.D. in anthropology from The American University. She has worked in 11 states and on 3 continents. She raises cattle, poultry, equine and timber on her farm in Louisiana.

Dr. Gelburd is the recipient of over 40 awards, including the Presidential Management and Improvement Award and 2 USDA Honor Awards.
