Arkansas WRP Photographs

This is an aerial view of a 3,900 acre project in Monroe County. The project area is
bounded by the Cache River on the east and the White River on the west. The photo shows
an area of permanent water with habitat mounds and pool areas created by using tractor
and dirt buggies.
|
The two photos below are from a 1,551 acre project in St.
Francis County. The project is approximately 40 miles west of Memphis,
Tennessee.

This is an example where NRCS created some deeper holes and swales.
|

This is a photo of a "Herp Hole".
These holes are approximately 12 feet wide, 25 to 30 feet long, and 8 to
10 inches deep. The holes are designed to hold water during the spring
as habitat for herps. They are installed in a random manner in fields that
will be planted to trees.
